The museum is located in a beautiful 19th-century mansion.

Through its nine rooms, the history of Mexican coins and banknotes is showcased to the public.

The building displays documents from the Historical Archive of Notaries, private collections, the Banco de México's collection of travelers, and a video on the history of currency.

The Numismatic Museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and has a gallery. It offers guided tours, concerts, conferences, and book presentations.
