Museo de la Medicina Maya
The Museum of Maya Medicine wants to disseminate the Tsotsil-Tseltal healing practices in Chiapas.
The museum environments recreate the uses of traditional medicine and its therapeutic resources within the inhabitants of the Chiapas Highlands.
It has six rooms and a demonstration garden with a wide variety of medicinal plants. Among the rooms, there is the Midwife's House, which recreates the way Tzotzil midwives work, and an exhibition and video room that showcases paintings and photographs related to traditional medicine.
