Museo de la Ciudad de Mérida

The City Museum is located in the Former Temple of San Juan de Dios.

It offers an interesting exhibition showcasing the history of the city.

Located south of the main square, it is one of the most important buildings in the city.

The museum features pre-Columbian, colonial, Independence-era, as well as the period of henequen boom and the Revolution.

Notable pieces include an ancient Nativity altarpiece created by indigenous artisans between the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as maps and drawings of the ancient Mayan city of T'ho.
