Museo de Historia Natural, José Vilet Brullet

At the beginning of the museum tour, there is a Planetarium displaying illuminated planets.

The Natural History Museum has a room that exhibits an extensive collection of over 350 minerals, including highlights such as a 20 kg amethyst geode, meteorites, quartz crystals, pyrite, magnetite, and different minerals from San Luis Potosi.

The museum also showcases fossils, including a 50 cm diameter ammonite dating back 500 million years, as well as petrified wood, fish, insects trapped in amber, and other specimens.

One room features several dioramas showing animal and plant cells magnified 50,000 times.

Another room displays three skulls, perfect replicas of Pithecanthropus erectus, Neanderthal Man, and Homo sapiens. It also presents the senses and a life-size torso showcasing the human internal organs.

The museum has an exhibition of 180 insects, including butterflies from various parts of the world, as well as more than 100 different examples of mollusks and shells.

There is a souvenir shop related to the museum and the zoo.
