Museo de Arte Sacro de Guadalajara

The Museum of Sacred Art is located behind the Cathedral.

It houses an interesting collection of religious art, including a variety of oil paintings with spectacular copper frames, sculptures of ivory and corn stalk, an ancient choir book, and a beautiful collection of gold and silver chalices.

The cypress tree, which until about 20 years ago served as the main altarpiece of the cathedral, stands out as a work by the Italian marble sculptor Juan Durín.

Location

Liceo No. 17, Centro Histórico, Guadalajara, Jal.
