Museo de Arte Popular de Yucatán

The Folk Art Museum is also known as the Cultural Center of the Mayan Peoples.

It has permanent exhibitions of Mayan art, customs, and crafts.

It houses 1,800 pieces of Mexican folk art, distributed in two collections displayed across eight rooms.

The room dedicated to the Mayan Peninsular group showcases traditional clothing, ceramics, stone carvings, woodcarvings, gold and silver jewelry with gemstone and coral inlays, as well as pre-Hispanic musical instruments and traditional toys.

It has a craft shop where you can acquire a wide range of representations of Yucatecan folk art.

Wednesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00 hrs. Sundays from 10:00 to 15:00 hrs.
