Museo Comunitario de Ixtlahuacán
The Community Museum has an interesting exhibition.
The collection consists of over 240 pieces, including pre-Hispanic and colonial art, as well as some everyday objects from the 19th century.
Among the pre-Hispanic pieces, there are notable stone molcajetes and metates, necklaces made of shell and snail beads, and some clay jars.
The collection also includes the pulpit of an old church, books containing records of baptisms, marriages, and deaths, a sword, a machete, silver coins from the period of 1840 to 1851, grain measuring tools found on the local estates, and attractive wooden masks belonging to the chayacates, who are the dancers of one of the most important festivals in Ixtlahuacán.
Location
It is located in the House of Culture, about 28 km north, approximately a half-hour drive from Tecomán.
