Alfredo Barrera Marín Botanical Garden
It spans 65 hectares in a jungle area with nearly 2 km of trails where you can appreciate over 300 species of plants from the region.
As you explore the garden, you can discover a wide variety of plants organized into different collections: ornamental, medicinal, ferns, epiphytes, palms, cacti, and succulents.
Within the garden, you'll find a chiclero camp, a nursery, a small archaeological site known as "El Altar," a typical Mayan house, a suspension bridge, and a 9-meter-high viewpoint from which you can contemplate the mangrove and the sea.
It's an ideal place to observe colorful birds, spider monkeys, coatis, and iguanas.
It is the most important preservation center in the region and the second-largest botanical garden in Mexico.
