El Hospitalito
According to tradition, this was the oldest temple in Pátzcuaro.
This is because the Franciscans founded hospitals before convents; it dates back to 1545.
This small temple is dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe, and its 16th-century facade presents a Renaissance style. It was built by the indigenous people of the region to indoctrinate and administer the sacraments to the inhabitants of that time.
In the main altar, there is an excellent wooden frontal carved with details in gold. It also has other altars from the 19th century.
