Templo del Calvario

This temple was built in 1666 by orders of Fray Marcos Ramírez, who was then the bishop.

It was erected on the site where there was a circular yácata containing the remains of Emperor Tariácuri, a prominent Purépecha leader.

The interior is decorated with several paintings and images of Christ, Saint John, and Mary Magdalene.
