El Acueducto (The Aqueduct)
It was used to bring water from the river to the Buenavista Sugar Hacienda, now Buenavista Rice Mill, located in the southwest of Cuautla.
The aqueduct was built in 1800 and played a significant role during the independence movement, serving as a stronghold of resistance for José María Morelos during the Siege of Cuautla in 1812. During the Revolution, it had a similar role, but this time Emiliano Zapata was the protagonist.
It is considered one of the 19 historical monuments in Cuautla.
