Centro Cultural “Casa del Faldón”
The Cultural Center is located in the Casa del Faldón, on the north side of the city.
According to tradition, the name of the house derives from a famous dispute that arose during a religious festivity between a Spanish councilor and an indigenous mayor regarding their precedence in the procession. Envious of the Indian mayor's primacy, the Spanish councilor gave a strong tug to his coat, tearing off the tail. A lengthy legal dispute followed, and the Spanish councilor was sentenced to live on the other side of the river, erecting this mansion to inhabit it.
It became a Cultural Center in 1991. It has two exhibition rooms and offers a wide range of artistic and cultural activities, as well as workshops in various disciplines.
