House of the Marquis of El Apartado
Facing the ruins of the Templo Mayor, this building is of neoclassical style.
Don José Francisco Fagoaga y Arozqueta, Marquis of El Apartado, commissioned its construction to the architect Manuel Tolsá in 1795.
It has a portico with four columns supporting a triangular pediment and is topped with a balustrade. Inside, the staircase and the central fountain in the main courtyard stand out.
In 2002, a restoration process began to house the offices of the National Council for Culture and the Arts.
