Casa del Conde de Sierra Gorda
The House of the Count of Sierra Gorda was built in the late 18th century, it features a neoclassical style in its interior and French-influenced facade.
The construction of this house was commissioned by Canon José Mariano Escandón y Liera, the Third Count of Sierra Gorda.
As an interesting fact, it is said that this house housed a variety of exotic animals that provided entertainment for the Count of Sierra Gorda, including an elephant that would walk the streets of the city center.
Currently, it houses the offices of the Secretariat of Education in its front area and serves as the Casa del Estudiante Nicolaita in its rear courtyard.
