Casa de Alvarado (Alvarado House)
The building was constructed in the 18th century and exhibits Andalusian and Moorish influences in its architecture.Â
At the beginning of this century, the house was purchased by the researcher Zelia Nutall, who named it after the famous Spanish soldier Pedro de Alvarado due to a legend claiming that he once resided in the house.Â
The property has had various functions and was restored in 2005 to bring back its original characteristics, including the typical vegetation of Coyoacán. It currently houses the National Sound Archive.
