This is one of the few remaining examples of baroque civil architecture in San Luis Potosi.
It was built in 1764 under the direction of Felipe Cleere, who was the official treasurer of the Viceroy.
In a niche on the façade, you can see the magnificent stone sculpture of La Purisima, a gift from King Carlos III to the city.
Inside, you can also admire the door and windows of the chapel, in the purest baroque style, carved in stone.
It showcases art with eight rooms where works by renowned artists such as Manuel Felguerez, Rafael Coronel, Jan Hendrix, Javier Marin, and Vicente Rojo, among others, are exhibited.
On the ground floor, there is a room that displays the historical heritage of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi, narrating the history of its foundation.
Workshops, seminars, and conferences are also held at the Cultural Center.
The central courtyard, surrounded by beautiful pillars, is one of the stages where some of the cultural events of the center take place.
Guided tours are available.
