This building dates back to the 17th century.

It is considered a masterpiece of Mexican Baroque

It features a spacious octagonal atrium and three entrances. The main entrance has a mixed-line arch from the 17th century. It served as an open chapel and cemetery.

Its facade dates back to the 18th century and is covered with ceramic tiles crafted by pottery masters specifically for the temple. The tiles are white and blue, representing the Virgin Mary, and green and yellow, representing Saint Joseph. It was said at that time that the temple was made of porcelain and deserved to be preserved under a glass canopy.

The tower is adorned with the same talavera tiles as the facade and follows Baroque style guidelines. There is an additional bell tower on the right decorated with colorful tiles and red bricks.

It has a Latin cross plan with seven levels. Inside, there is magnificent decoration with gilded moldings and a wide variety of polychrome images. Several elements reminiscent of the beautiful Rosary Chapel in the Santo Domingo Temple can be found.

The main altarpiece showcases saints carved in wood and polychrome using the estofado technique. The pulpit is also decorated with polychrome elements.
