The construction of the parish church took place from 1557 to 1670.
However, for various reasons, in 1673, an order was given to demolish the building. It is said that due to the weight of the image of San Diego de Alcalá, it couldn't be moved, so they simply closed it. After 13 years, it was authorized to reopen.
Its facade consists of three levels made of gray quarry stone. The entrance is located on the first level and features a semicircular arch and finely carved flower ornaments.
The church has a single nave, and inside, you can find the Chapel of Solitude with a beautiful Churrigueresque altarpiece. It is considered a small museum due to the quality of its paintings. Among these magnificent works, there are pieces by Juan Bautista Cortes and Pascual Pérez, both artists from the 17th century.
