Parroquia de la Merced

The church is in the Baroque style, with Plateresque and Churrigueresque elements.

Its construction began in 1604 by the friars Pedro de Burgos and Alonso García for the Order of the Mercedarians.  por los frailes Pedro de Burgos y Alonso García para la Orden de los Mercedarios.

It has a single nave crowned by a dome with an octagonal drum in a Baroque style.

The parish has two facades, the eastern one dating from the 18th century and preserving its original door, while the one facing north is from the 17th century and has a Mannerist style.

The church has a single nave without a transept, and its interior decoration is in the Neoclassical style.

Later, the monastery became a school, and only its temple remained for religious services.
