Baluarte de Santiago
The bastion was the last of the eight bastions of Campeche to be built in the early 18th century.
It is named after Santiago de Compostela, the patron saint of Spanish conquests. Its faces measured 30.71 meters and its flanks nearly 15 meters.
In the early 20th century, this bastion was demolished, and what can be seen today is only a replica that differs from the original. Only the original entrance gate has been preserved.
Inside, you will find the Xmuch-haltún botanical garden.
