It's the most important museum in Tabasco and one of the most peculiar in Mexico.

Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is located in the natural environment where the Olmec culture developed, amidst the jungle, on the shores of the Laguna de las Ilusiones.

It covers eight hectares where you can enjoy both nature and the ancestral heritage of the region. The archaeological area begins with an introductory room that provides an overview of the Olmec culture. Then, the walk begins through a jungle landscape of medicinal and ornamental trees, from which Olmec sculptures, mosaics, and tombs emerge.

It is divided into two main areas: a zoological section where you can see around 650 animal species such as jaguars, crocodiles, birds, snakes, and spider monkeys, as well as the most representative flora of the region. The other section is dedicated to archaeology, with a collection of 33 sculptural pieces, mostly from the La Venta archaeological site. The large monoliths are classified into four groups: altars, stelae, sculptures, and the famous colossal Olmec heads.

The museum offers a multipurpose room, a consultation area, tourist information, a regional crafts store, an interactive kiosk, a cafeteria with resting palapas, and parking facilities.

Additionally, the La Venta Park-Museum features a Light and Sound show, with performances from Tuesday to Sunday at 20:00, 21:00, and 22:00 hrs.
