Parque Camino Real a Tula
It is located in the Sierra Madre Oriental nestled in a beautiful natural environment within a protected natural area. In addition to providing incredible landscapes, it also offers a historical experience to its visitors. It known for being a place where various paleontological remains have been found, as well as being the habitat of the pre-Hispanic Janambre culture.
The park occupies a location that was a crossing point in the Sierra, as it was on the route that connected the Gulf of Mexico with the northern highlands of the country. It was during the 18th and 19th centuries that the Camino Real was consolidated with paved roads, stone markers, and arches reminiscent of Roman constructions on its bridges.It is located in the Sierra Madre Oriental and is known for being a place where various paleontological remains have been found, as well as being the habitat of the pre-Hispanic Janambre culture.
For those who enjoy hiking, they can travel a 16 km path from the Ejido de Alta Cumbre to the Ejido Huizachal, taking in breathtaking landscapes of the Sierra Madre Oriental along a red dirt road. There is an impressive viewpoint with marvelous panoramas of the entire mountain range. This space also features an interpretive museum where you can see photographs related to the “Camino Real” and some archaeological remains.
