Museo Zacatecano (Zacatecan Museum)

Installed in what used to be the Zacatecas Mint, the museum features an interesting exhibition.

The Huichol Art Room showcases over 200 embroidered pieces created by this ethnic group.

The museum also displays a collection of popular retablos or ex-votos from the 19th century, originating from different religious centers and periods. It includes a sample of Mexican ironwork from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, a collection of photo murals by Juan Víctor Aráuz, and the "Images of the Huichol World" collection, consisting of 70 pieces from the Lylli Photographic Archive.

Two magnificent murals stand out in the museum. The first one is by Huichol artist Santos Motoapohua de la Torre Santiago, made of chaquira beads and composed of 80 puzzle-like frames representing Huichol cosmogony. The other mural is by local artist Antonio Pintor and is located on the main staircase. It chronologically illustrates the evolution of currency usage in Mexico through different coins and representations.
