Museo Virreinal de Acolman
An Augustinian convent dating back to 1539, whose façade is considered a jewel of Plateresque architecture.
It also features incredible mural paintings, among the first to be created in Latin America.
Although it doesn't have a permanent exhibition, the building itself is a museum. You can explore the ground floor, which includes a pilgrim's portal, the porter's lodge, the kitchen, the refectory, and the cloisters. On the second floor, you can visit the cells, the west gallery, the chapter hall, the open chapel, and the library, to name a few of the important spaces.
There is also a church open to worship, featuring a golden Baroque altarpiece and remarkable frescoes.
