Museo Histórico del Oriente, Casa de Morelos

It is a rustic house from the 18th century where José María Morelos lived during the siege of Cuautla in 1812.

Morelos was an important figure in the independence movement, and during the Revolution, it was used as a headquarters by Emiliano Zapata.

It currently houses the Eastern Historical Museum of Morelos. It has eight rooms that narrate important moments in the lives of both the leader of Independence and the significant figure in the state, Emiliano Zapata. It also covers the history of Cuautla from the pre-Hispanic era to the present day.

There are various archaeological pieces and others related to the lives of José María Morelos and Emiliano Zapata.
