Museo de la Ciudad de México
It is located in a beautiful Baroque-style building dating back to the 16th century, which was reconstructed in 1779.
Until 1960, it served as the residence of the descendants of the Count of Calimaya.
The museum documents the history of Mexico and features 15 exhibition halls and courtyards where antiques, historical documents, murals, dioramas, and scale models of the old City of Mexico are displayed, spanning from the Aztec Empire to the present day.
At the entrance, there are three carriages and a conch-shaped fountain decorated with a two-tailed mermaid, children, and dolphins.
The museum is also a regular venue for concerts, film-video cycles, conferences, and various shows.
In the foundations, you can contemplate a basalt-carved head of Quetzalcoatl dating back to the Mexica era.
