It is located in a historic building dating back to the 18th century, which more recently housed the newspaper "El Sol de Durango."

Its rooms are dedicated to photography in Durango, printing and journalism in Durango, Antonio Guadala Hall, Guillermo Bravo Morán Hall, and numismatics.

Currently, guided tours are offered to learn about its history and anecdotes, and cultural events and permanent workshops on journalism and painting are held, as well as various cultural events.
