Museo de Historia Natural José Narciso Rovirosa Andrade
The Natural History Museum was inaugurated in 1988 in a modern architectural building located on the shores of the Laguna de las Ilusiones.
It consists of five permanent exhibition rooms distributed on two levels, showcasing the didactic evolution of plants, animals, humans, and the Earth.
The exhibition features 531 pieces, including dinosaur skeletons, paintings, utensils, and tools.
The rooms cover various themes: the first room is called "Tabasco" and presents different aspects related to the state's geological origins; the second room focuses on "The Earth" and illustrates the origin and evolution of the universe, the solar system, and the planet; the third room is dedicated to the "Evolution of Life" and presents various theories about the origin of life; the fourth room is about "Man" and describes human evolution; and the room about "Resources" showcases the tools and utensils used in livestock, agriculture, and fishing in Tabasco.
The museum has a bookstore and a video library. It also offers courses and workshops related to environmental topics.
