Museo de Historia de Tabasco Casa de los Azulejos

The History Museum is located in one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, known as the House of Tiles.

Its name comes from the wide variety of tiles brought from Barcelona that decorate its facade. The building dates back to the late 19th century and was restored in 1985 to house the museum.

The ground floor houses the publishing area, the crafts store, the multipurpose auditorium, and the temporary exhibition hall.

On the second floor, there is a collection of documents and objects such as paintings, trunks, altarpieces, portraits, coins, household items, photographs, weapons, engravings, and decorations related to different stages of Tabasco's history. Notable pieces include the state coat of arms and two 18th-century oil paintings depicting San Antonio de Padua and the Divine Countenance.

The museum also offers temporary exhibitions and an area with regional crafts for sale.
