It was first inaugurated as the Palace of Crafts. It also served as the headquarters of the Corn Museum and the Mario Pani Cultural Center until it was remodeled in 2001 to become the Museum of Contemporary Art.

This is a space that exhibits painting, sculpture, and all forms of contemporary artistic expression.

There are works by José Luís Cuevas, Chávez Morado, and even Salvador Dalí.

It has an open-air theater, a bookstore, a central courtyard, a terrace, and a lobby where various stage performances are presented.
