Museo de Arte Funerario Benigno Montoya (Funerary Art Museum)

It is located in the Civil Cemetery of Durango, also known as the Municipal Cemetery of Oriente, founded in 1860.

Due to the beauty and precision in the carving of the quarry mortuary monuments made by sculptor Benigno Montoya Muñoz, it was declared a museum since 2002.

The renowned sculptor created unique works in quarry, as well as neoclassical and neo-Gothic style chapels. However, his beautiful angel sculptures stand out.

Hours

Monday to Sunday from 8:00 to 18:00 hrs. Night visits are periodically scheduled at 20:00 hrs.
