It is an extinct volcano of about 3000 meters above sea level with various types of vegetation. On the slopes of the volcano there are a great variety of agaves; while in the highest parts the vegetation is mostly wooded.

If you decide to explore the volcano, you should not miss the monolith that is located in the forest, which is a column of lava, a vestige of the last eruption of the volcano that took place 22,000 years ago.

Upon reaching the cone you can walk on the edge or inside it, or climb its walls to have a panoramic view of the agave area.

It was considered as the sacred mountain by some of the pre-Hispanic cultures of the region.
