BOCA DEL RÍO

Antón Lizardo

This is a good fishing place you can catch grouper, villajaiba, sea bass, esmedregal, red snapper and sole. With the local community you can rent a fishing boat. Located 23 km south of the Port of Veracruz.

El Parque Agrotur

The park offers some beautiful lakes where you can catch tilapia. The park provides all the necessary equipment. Located in Medellín near Boca del Río.

CÓRDOBA

Río 5 de Mayo

There is a trout farm in the river, an ideal place for fishing. Located one hour and 20 minutes from Córdoba very near the town of Ixpila.

COSTA ESMERALDA (EMERALD COAST)

It is an excellent place for fishing in the middle of a unique natural environment. If you want to have a different experience you can try to fish is in the middle of the mangroves.

The Tarpon Fishing Tournament takes place every March in Costa Esmeralda.

LOS TUXTLAS

Playa Hermosa is a good place for fishing, but it is in the middle of a Protected Natural Area and you must follow the guidelines established by the area.

PAPANTLA

Barra de Cazones

The name comes from the fact there it is relatively easy to catch dog fish, a small, bottom-dwelling sharks. Located one hour and 20 minutes from Papantla. Located 45 km from Poza Rica.

Laguna Tamiahua

It is the third largest in the country and an ideal place to catch shrimp, crabs, clams and oysters. Located between the Pánuco and Tuxpan rivers, two and a half hours from Papantla.

Río Tuxpan

PUERTO DE VERACRUZ

The Gulf is one of the most productive waters in the world for aquatic organisms and is home to thousands of different species. The largest fishing fleet in the country is located in Veracruz.

The Gulf is the kingdom of sole, tarpon, jack, snapper, sea bass, barracuda, dogfish, wahoo, shrimp, crab, lobster, tuna, shark, oysters, squid, clams and Spanish mackerel, to name a few.

In the Port of Veracruz, several important tournaments are held, such as the “Sábalo de Plata” (Silver Tarpon) tournament in May.
