This huge and beautiful park is located in the northern part of the State on the border with the State of Jalisco. The Nevado de Colima has been compared for its tooth shape with the Cervino Mountain of the Alps.
The area abounds with pines, oaks, oyameles and is dotted with deep ravines and lagoons.
The park is ideal for camping, mountaineering, excursions and picnics.
Inside the park is the Nevado de Colima, a volcano so named because its top is covered with snow during the winter almost every year. It is the highest in the State with a height of 4,335 meters.
It offers its visitors an incomparable natural reserve with deep ravines, pine, oak and fir forests and an extensive variety of wild fauna and flora.
An activity that is worth doing in this place is to ascend to the "La Joya" refuge (an easily accessible and very safe place), where you can also camp and enjoy the whole environment.
