In Nuevo León you can see around 450 species of birds throughout the state. This is because there is a great diversity of ecosystems such as forests, high mountains and a great desert bordering Chihuahua.
Among the species that you can easily find are the golden eagle, the bearded caracara, the mountain parrot, the long-beaked warbler, the worthen sparrow and the red-necked grosbeak.
Chipinque Park
One of the best places for bird watching is Chipinque Park, where there are around 124 species of birds typical of the mountains of the Sierra Madre Oriental, among which are: aura hawk, red-tailed eagle, head bagger black, acorn woodpecker, Mexican woodpecker, northern centzontle, gray-breasted jay, green jay, goldfinch bugler, blue-throated hummingbird, mourning dove, red-eyed thrush, elegant swallower and rufous-tailed thrush, among others.
Other places where you can enjoy this activity are: Sierra de Las Mitras, Cerro de la Silla and Cerro del Mirador.
