Covering an area of 43,000 hectares, it is situated within the municipality of Yécora in the Sierra Madre Occidental. 

It is a beautiful place with forested mountain landscapes that include streams, canyons, and rivers. Due to its diverse characteristics and size, you can go from a pine forest in the high mountains to a tropical forest, creating a striking contrast in the scenery.
