Gulf of Mexico Beaches
It is an estuary located northwest of Catemaco.
This beautiful landscape consists of sand dunes and grasslands.
Its wetlands are an important refuge for migratory birds and serve as an important spawning ground for both freshwater and saltwater fish, as well as crustaceans.
Additionally, the dunes are a nesting place for some species of sea turtles.
In the mangrove area, it's easy to find red and blue crabs.
At La Barra and the lagoon, you can take boat rides, kayak, birdwatch, and fish. Moreover, if you're adventurous, there is a long reef line where you can go diving.
There are several thatched-roof restaurants on the beach.
Additionally, you can visit Rancho Los Amigos, an ecological working farm located on the shores of Laguna de Sontecomapan, very close to the Gulf of Mexico.
