Casa de los Escudos (House of Shields)
This ancient construction belonged to the counts of Villa Hermosa and Alfaro de los Venicia.
Its name comes from the large relief shields that adorn the facade.
In this house was born the heroine of Pátzcuaro, Doña Gertrudis Bocanegra de Lazo de la Vega, who actively participated in the independence movement.
Currently, it has been converted into a hotel and is located in front of Plaza Vasco de Quiroga.
