Puentecillas Ecotourism Center
At the Puentecillas Ecotourism Center you can take a tour through a landscape of pines and oaks until you reach an incredible natural viewpoint from where you can see the Baluarte River Gorge, as well as enjoy the Sierra de Durango.
If you have good condition you can reach the lagoon.

Trail to Waterfalls in Mexiquillo
One of the most pleasant routes in the state of Durango is the Sendero a Cascadas (Waterfall Route), along the hike you can see canyons and waterfalls of the Sierra del Espinazo.
The best time to do this hike is from September to November when the waterfalls have formed in the upper course of a river. In the area there is an unfinished railway tunnel and nice cabins.
It is located within the Natural Park 126 km from Durango.
Jardín de Piedras (Stone Garden)
This is an enigmatic place located approximately 3,000 meters above sea level in Mexiquinillo. This is a maze of rocks that look like sculptures, which is why it is also known as the Sculpture Garden.
These are formations of volcanic origin and the imagination of the locals has baptized them in various ways such as: giant mushrooms or the sphinx, some even seem to have been sculpted by the famous artist Botero.
Cañón Tres Molinos (Three Mills Canyon)
It is a spectacular natural area that offers rivers, impressive rock formations and streams. It also has interpretive trails where you can learn more about the flora and fauna of the region.
