Plaza Vasco de Quiroga
This is considered one of the most beautiful squares in all of Latin America.
This large square, also known as Plaza Grande, is surrounded by gardens and mansions that were once occupied by local nobility.
Its size, the historic buildings around it such as the Casa de Gertrudis Bocanegra and the Palacio de Huitziméngari, as well as the absence of religious buildings, make it different from almost all other squares in the country. como la Casa de Gertrudis Bocanegra y el Palacio de Huitziméngari, así como la ausencia de edificios religiosos, la hacen diferente de casi todas las demás plazas del país.
Currently, it is also surrounded by restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Pátzcuaro.
In the center, there is a fountain with a bronze statue of Vasco de Quiroga, the first bishop of Michoacán.
