Museo Ex Convento de San Nicolás de Tolentino

It was one of the most important convents of the Augustinian order.

It has managed to preserve beautiful murals and some religious art pieces from the 16th and 19th centuries.

Of particular note among the murals are those found in the main staircase, elaborated using the monochromatic technique of grisaille, depicting scenes of evangelization.

The open chapel stands out, with its vault rising about 17 meters and adorned with a mural painting showcasing religious syncretism.

The museum is located on the upper level of the former convent and offers sculptures and paintings primarily with religious themes from the 16th to 19th centuries.

Location

Lerdo de Tejada s/n, Colonia Centro Actopan, Hidalgo. (39 km de Pachuca).
