Museo del Periodismo y las Artes Gráficas (MUPAG)
The Museum of Journalism and Graphic Arts is a two-story building with a quarry facade and neoclassical-style stained glass windows.
It is also known as the "House of the Dogs" due to the presence of dogs at the entrance.
In 1792, the city's first printing press began operating here, printing the "Gaceta de México" newspaper.
It was inaugurated as a museum in 1994, with the aim of providing an overview of journalism in Guadalajara.
One of its rooms tells the history of graphic communication and traces a timeline from cave paintings to the first printing press in Guadalajara.
The other rooms exhibit objects related to graphic arts, including 19th-century printing presses.
It has a library, painting exhibitions, information on journalism, radio, cinema, television, and a newspaper library with a vast collection of Guadalajara newspapers.
The museum has a video room where videos about the history of the house, cinema, books, and writing are presented. It offers guided tours, courses, and workshops for children.
