La Casa de Piedra (The Stone House)
It is an extremely interesting place because it is a house built entirely from a single stone.
According to legend, in 1538, Friar Bernardo Quezada wanted to join the Augustinian order and was tasked with building his own dwelling as a penance.
There are some other versions that claim the house was built by a fugitive from justice.
Within the local legends, it is said that the house also sheltered Chucho el Roto, one of the most famous thieves of the 19th century, who stole from the rich to help the poor.
The house is built by taking advantage of a large stone measuring 10 meters long by five in diameter. More than being constructed, the house is sculpted. It has two rooms excavated in the rock with furniture and a small altar.
