From January to March it is possible to observe these enormous mammals in the lagoons of Ojo de Liebre, Guerrero Negro, San Ignacio, San Carlos and López Mateos.

These sightings are also possible from some of the islands near La Paz, or tours to the aforementioned sanctuaries. Normally the journeys last from two to three hours.

The tour takes place in boats known as pangas, since they are intended to be friendly to whales that weigh up to 35 tons.

Along the way you can appreciate beautiful natural landscapes, including mangroves and dunes that are the habitat of hundreds of birds.

It is a unique experience to live with these giant mammals and their calves just a few meters away and sometimes, with a bit of luck, you will be able to touch one of the calves that tend to be very friendly.
